Is anyone else annoyed by the Racing Post’s decision to charge readers to access some parts of its website?
I think it’s a disgrace and people should refuse to pay. They’re going to charge us for race reports and spotlight verdicts on its racecards as well as checking what their tipsters fancy. Do they not realise that advertisers will only continue to stump up the cash if there’s a sufficient number of traffic going through their website? If people refuse to pay the subscription fee then the numbers of users will go down and they’ll be forced to go back to providing this information for free again.
Send them an email and tell them what you think of their subscription idea. Tell them to stick it where the sun don’t shine!
Yes good question Sir Alan…. I’m definitely not going there any more, its off to At the Races for me, but it’s a shame because I was just getting used to all the changes and then when you try to access further information on a horse you get the Members Club page telling you that this is restricted information for which they wish you to stump up 7.50 a month to access Spotlights, post data, topspeed, Pricewise and video replays (which they already charge for)..also they make their SP’s unavailable to non Members until 9.00 am in the morning.
At the Races are offering free access to all information, racecards, betting, prices and stable news along with video replays of their races.
You can also access downloads of cards and form for free, Racing Post want you to pay for all this…do they think we are mad, as I said on a previous question… I only want the Newmarket Correspondents job and I’ll do that for free if someone would pay my expenses.lol

Edit: Sir AIan just read your point about ATR only giving access to races that they are allowed to screen and that is so true, so for the rest we are now having to search around Sportinglife and other racing sites…hopefully if enough people complain RP may give back some of what they have taken away, but the club will be here to stay in one way or another of that I’m certain..Jac x
